Available from YMT, the Kasuga Seiki V100 vertical machining center features a Meehanite casting and an extra-wide support design to promote stability, rigidity and accuracy. The VMC’s 43.3" × 19.7" worktable accommodates loads ranging to 990 lbs. X-, Y- and Z-axis travels measure 40" × 21" × 22.6", and its 20-hp spindle offers speeds ranging to 10,000 rpm. Rapid feed rates are 1,890 ipm in the X and Y axes, and 1,417 ipm in the Z axis. Cutting feed rate is 394 ipm.
Linear slideways on all three axes are equipped with 45-mm precision ballscrews to promote rigidity. Servomotors direct-couple to the ballscrews. A 24-tool swing-arm-type automatic toolchanger accommodates CAT-40 tools weighing as much as 15.4 lbs with diameters ranging to 3.1". The machining center also is equipped with a FANUC 0iMD control and 8.4" LCD color monitor. Additional features include a spindle chiller, chip-flushing system, screw-type conveyor with a chip chute and bucket, CTS prep, and fourth-axis prep.
